Florence County deputies are investigating a home invasion and shooting that happened Sunday afternoon.
Authorities say three men walked up to a home on Maxwell Street just before 1 p.m Sunday, and knocked on the door.
Investigators say the men then asked the homeowner if they could speak to "Dante."
The homeowner told the men that he did not know anyone by that name, and shut the door.
That's when investigators say the men put a shotgun muzzle up to the doorknob, fired the gun, and blew the doorknob off causing the door to swing open.
Authorities say the homeowner then ran into a bedroom with his wife, and the men fired another shot at the bedroom door.
Investigators say no one was harmed in the incident, but the men did steal a pocketbook from the home.
Deputies say the homeowner provided a description of the suspect's vehicle and Florence Police later tracked down the vehicle on North Irby street.
Authorities say the men turned down several streets, threw the shotgun out of the vehicle on Dargan street, and then fled from police.
Police were not able to catch up with the vehicle.
Authorities are still looking for the men involved, though they did not yet release a description of the suspect's vehicle.
