DILLON – Two families are without shelter and one person is being treated for burns at the Augusta Burn Center following a Saturday morning fire at the Maplewood Apartments in Dillon.
Red Cross officials told News13 the fire began about 8 a.m. in the L2 building, and there was one person inside who was taken by helicopter to the Augusta Burn Center.
The L2 building was destroyed along with L1, and the Red Cross said the L3 building experienced minor water damage.
The Red Cross is assisting two of the families and putting them up in hotel rooms.
