Elton Rogers
Elton Rogers, 76, died Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008 in Sunny Acres Nursing Homes after an illness. Services were at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, in Richardson Funeral Home. Burial followed at Palmetto Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Rogers was born in Dillon County, a son of the late Charles and Gossie Pittman Rogers. He was predeceased by two daughters, Shawn Denise Rogers and Sharon Dianne Rogers. He was a long distance truck driver for 28 years and a member of Mullins-Marion Freewill Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara Snipes Rogers of Mullins, a son, Timothy E. Rogers and his wife Jeanne of Mullins; a sister, Shirley Carter of Hartsville; and two grandchildren, Blake Rogers, a member of the U.S. Air Force, and Caitlyn Rogers.

Jimmy W. Martin
Jimmy Wayne Martin, 46, died in Louisiana on Monday, Nov. 24, 2008. Services were at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 in Mt. Calvary Church. Burial followed in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Martin was born in Conway, July 29, 1962 a son of A.J. and Peggy Arnette Martin. He was an electrician and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.
Surviving Mr. Martin are his parents; his fiancé, Dawn Britt of Lumberton, N.C.; a daughter, Brittany M. Martin of Watkinsville, Ga.; sisters, Sandra Page (Charles) of Myrtle Beach and Dorothy Jean Strickland of Loris; and a grandmother, Frances Arnette of Dillon.
Predeceasing Mr. Martin were his grandparents Junior Arnette of Dillon and Sherwood and Georgia Martin of Mullins.

Alice Mae Christmas
Alice Mae Bumbarger Christmas, 71, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008. Mrs. Christmas was born in Marion, a daughter of the late Francis and Leila Mae Rogers Bumbarger.
Surviving her are four children, Frances Diane Cheeseman of Florence, David Earl Christmas stationed at Hill AFB, Utah, John Timothy Christmas of Juneau, Wis., and Michael Bryon Christmas of Florence; a sister, Mary Frances Godbold of Marion; five grandchildren and their families.
Services were at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 in the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion. Burial followed.

Billy Woodward Altman
Billy Woodward Altman, 71, of Mullins, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 in McLeod Hospice House following an illness.
Mr. Altman was born in Horry County, a son of the late Garland and Pauline Woodward Altman. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War and served on The USS Yorktown during his navy tour. He was a member of The Sons of the Confederate Veterans Chapter #24.
Mr. Altman was predeceased by his grandparents, Ben and Carrie Woodward and an infant brother, Samuel Altman. Surviving him are his fiance, Gwyn Anne Sawyer; two brothers, Bennie Altman and wife Linda of Myrtle Beach and Garland Altman Jr. and wife Lois of Conway; one sister, Jeanette Edge of Conway; his step-mother, Helen Altman of Conway; a nephew, Terry Altman of Myrtle Beach; two nieces, Tracy D'Lerma of Cheyenne, Wy., and Mary Awalt of Myrtle Beach; and a special grandson, Seth Owens of Marion.
Graveside services were at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 5 in Hillcrest Cemetery with the Rev. Eddie Carter officiating.
