»  Comments | Post a Comment

A Johnsonville man was arrested Monday after deputies said he broke several car windows while two small children were inside the vehicle, Florence County Sheriff’s Lt. Brett Camp said.

SC Leo Stone, 19, of 1536 N. Second Neck Road is charged with malicious injury to animals and/or personal property and unlawful neglect of a child or helpless person by a legal custodian, Florence County Detention Center bookings reports show.

The incident happened Oct. 31 near the intersection of First Neck and Mac Lake Roads when the suspect became angry and used an object to destroy the glass in a 2006 Chevrolet, Camp said. A 5-year-old child and a 19-month-old child were inside the vehicle.

The suspect also damaged the vehicle’s interior, Camp said. The suspect was arrested after investigators talked with several witnesses.

Stone was released Tuesday from the jail in Effingham, though bond information wasn’t available.
