Main Street Marion wants to promote shopping in downtown Marion on Main Street during the Christmas Season. The idea is to “Make a Wish in Marion!”
The idea is simple: HMRA is going to promote shopping in Marion by encouraging shoppers to select items in various businesses on Main Street. Merchants encourage shoppers to put their name, phone number and item(s) that they wish for in a Wish Book (to be provided by HMRA).
Following the wish list shopping spree, the shopper will complete a post card informing friends and family members about the item(s) that they would like for Christmas.
One post card will be mailed by HMRA and any additional cards will be mailed and paid for by the shopper.
Friends or relatives will receive the wish card and then contact Marion Merchants to purchase gifts for their loved ones.
Main Street Marion will have the gift to be picked up by the buyer or can deliver small gifts to local addresses before Christmas so the gift giver is sure the present gets to the desired party before Dec. 25.
Please use this service to support our downtown businesses.
As more people shop downtown, this helps bring more businesses downtown. This is a win-win for all of Marion.
The following businesses on Main Street are taking part in the “Make a Wish in Marion” shopping event: Jus Shoes, Richardson’s, Professional Pharmacy, Classy’s, Pee Dee Office Systems, How Great Thou Art, Cat Fish Alley, Southerndelles, Candle Light Gifts, Millies Flowers, Baxley’s Hardware, Cuckoos Nest, Hulon Jewelers, Main Street Marion, and Bridger’s Drug Store.
Chuck Wiegert is the Main Street Marion and Historic Marion Revitalization Association executive director.
