Funds raised by the BI-LO Charity Classic Golf Tournament are being used to help support Mullins High School’s Initiatives. On Dec. 1 the high school received a $2,295 check from BI-LO Charities to support efforts to provide learners the opportunity to become responsible, productive citizens.
The belief of Mullins High School is that learning is a lifelong process influenced by experience and environment, a press release said. The development of positive relationships is essential to the productive social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of every individual and this development of the whole individual requires that education be a responsibility shared by the home, school and community.
As the foundation of these beliefs, Mullins High School believes that society will benefit from a united effort to educate all individuals and from a common desire for the community to succeed, school officials said in the press release.
This year, the BI-LO Charity Classic celebrated its 25th anniversary and raised a record-breaking $5.6 million. Mullins High School is one of several organizations in the community that have been chosen to be a beneficiary. The grant is expected to be used to help students who use the after school homework center and to help provide them with snacks and transportation.
“We are proud to be a part of the Charity Classic tournament, which gives us the ability to support some of the most vital organizations in our community, and we are honored to award grants to organizations like Mullins High School, which has changed so many lives for the better,” said Carol Browning, director of BI-LO Charities.
