The town of Atlantic Beach still does not have a mayor.
After counting the contested votes Thursday morning, no candidate received a majority of the votes to win.
A candidate needed 40 votes to get the majority, but councilwoman Retha Pierce only received 37 votes.
A runoff election between Pierce and Charlene Taylor, the current Mayor pro-tem, will be held December 16th.
Polls will be open that day from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for residents to vote.
Count on News13 to continue covering this election.
