Cook clinical manager of wound center

Sandra H. Cook, RN, has been named clinical manager of the Wound Healing Center at Marion Regional Healthcare System.
Cook, who received her LPN diploma from Marion County Vocational Center and her Associate Degree in Nursing from Robeson Community College in Lumberton, began her nursing career with the former Mullins Hospital (now part of Marion Regional Healthcare System) in 1982.
She is one of a few who has had the distinction of working in all departments of the Hospital. Most recently, she served as an RN Staff Nurse for the Medical Surgical, Pediatrics, and Geriatrics Divisions and as a Care Plan Coordinator for the ICU.
Cook, who was awarded a Case Management Certificate from Kaplan University in 2007, is ACLS and PALS Certified, and is qualified to serve on the FEMA National Response Team.
She is recognized regionally as being instrumental in the development and implementation of the Recertification Nurse Role for Home Health. For 18 months, she served as the Utilization Manager for Marion-Dillon Home Health handling private insurance, Medicaid, HMO Medicare, and HMO Medicaid for a five-county area.
In her new role, Cook will be responsible for the clinical aspects of Marion Regional Healthcare System’s Wound Healing Center including providing continuity of care for patients, integrating new therapies, training personnel, and reviewing and reporting on patient outcomes to ensure quality.

The Wound Healing Center at Marion Regional Healthcare System is located on Highway 76 between Marion and Mullins. A National Healing Corporation Wound Center, it specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds and non-responsive conditions and offers hospital-based outpatient wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy as well as disease management and diabetes care.
The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations has awarded National Healing Corporation Disease-Specific Care Certification for wound care.
