An accident in Socastee killed a person Saturday night.
It happened at about 8:30 p.m. on the Intracoastal Waterway near the swing bridge, close to Highway 544.
Todd Cartner of Horry County Fire Rescue says one person was killed in the accident.
According to witnesses, two boats collided in the water.
Cartner says there were two boats involved and that one of the boats had four people inside.
Cartner says one person was airlifted to M.U.S.C. in Charleston, and two were transported to Conway Medical Center in serious condition.
The other person died at the scene.
