About a dozen people got the first look at possible plans for terminal expansion at the Myrtle Beach International Airport.
The first public information meeting about a possible terminal expansion project was held at Fire Station No. 6 in Myrtle Beach.
Horry County and Myrtle Beach officials along with representatives with MB Kahn, the company hired by for the airport project played host at the meeting.
Rick Ott, with MB Kahn said the purpose of the meeting was to get input from the public about the possible plans.
Bobbie Lawson said after living in Myrtle Beach for almost 40 years, she's seen the airport go through a lot of changes.
Lawson said she hopes the newest batch of plans for possible terminal expansion are the real thing.
"Maybe this time we can come through with something, this area needs some access and right now I think if we can all sort of get on the same track, and not have fights, it'll be good for the area."
Lawson was in the audience with about a dozen other people at the first public input meeting about possible terminal expansion.
Along with asking questions, reading through a detailed hand-out, and looking very closely at the three alternatives for expansion, many people said they are just ready to see something get done.
"I guess you could put concessions and you could do all that, but in the same token, the bottom line is people want to get in and they want to get out." said John Vogel.
Lawson said she'd like a place to see the planes take off and land, and better access to the terminal from the parking lot.
"Maybe a restaurant, maybe more than one that would be a place where you could sit and you sit with your incoming or outgoing, uh visitors, uh i don't know what there is out there for corporate people." said Lawson.
The next public meeting will be Tuesday, August 19, at North Myrtle Beach City Hall, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Another meeting will be later Tuesday night from 7:30-9:30 p.m. at Loris Town Hall.
