A 12-year-old boy is dead after what appears to be an accident in rural Georgetown County.
It happened around 6:50 p.m. off Parker Village Road, near the Lambert community, just south of Andrews.
According to Georgetown County Coroner Kenny Johnson, Dayvon Jones died when his uncle backed a semi-truck cab up under a trailer on Sunday night.
Johnson said it appears the man didn't realize the boy was on the back of the semi-truck, and investigators say the boy's body was crushed between the fifth-wheel and the trailer.
Johnson said Jones died at the scene.
No one is charged.
