A ceremony is scheduled today for the opening of the U.S. 301 Bypass in Florence County.
The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) has scheduled the ceremony for 11a.m. at Freedom Florence Recreational Complex, located at 1515 Freedom Boulevard, just off Pamplico Highway.
The Bypass will run from S.C. 327, crossing National Cemetery Road and eventually reaching S.C. 51 (Pamplico Highway) in the South Florence area.
According to a press release, speakers at today's event will include SCDOT Commissioner Marvin Stevenson, State Senator Hugh Leatherman, State Representative Terry Alexander, and Florence Mayor Frank Willis.
