A visitor to the Simple Farms’ seventh Farmstead Show shucks corn, the old-fashioned way with a hand-crank corn shucker. He, and hundreds of others, visited the Cedar Creek farm on Nov. 10, where members of several area family members and friends get together each year to present farm life as it was in the 1930s and 1940s. From a mule pulling a plow and a drag, to an operational smoke house, blacksmithing, butter making and cane syrup cooking, the day was filled with activities for all.
