The Marion County Treasurer's office has launched an innovative Web site to help the county's taxpayers, according to Patsy Rogers, Marion County Treasurer. The site offers those "who do business in Marion County a dynamic way of accessing important tax information online," she said. The tax information is available at http://www.marionsc.org.
“It has always been my goal to offer our Marion County property owners and those who provide mortgage related services to them the tools that make my office easier to do business with. Our Web site, with its integration into PayPal’s secure Internet payment system, will allow anyone, regardless of where they live, the capability to look up public information on Marion County property and vehicles and to then pay the taxes online if they wish, using their credit card or the other methods that PayPal offers” Rogers said in an e-mailed announcement on Tuesday.
The Marion County Treasurer’s office plans to continue to upgrade the technology and services we offer to those who need our service, Rogers said, adding that anyone who has a computer with Internet service can have a "satellite office of the Marion County Treasurer in their home.” The site was developed and will be maintained by Sturgis Web Services of Fort Mill. PayPal® is an ebay® company and is the largest secure Internet payment provider globally, Rogers said. For information, visit Rogers at 100 West Court Street,
