Crash victims killed on impact

Marion County Coroner Jerry Richardson has confirmed the three victims involved in the Nov. 19 fatal accident were killed from the impact of the crash.

“Death was instantaneous. They did not die in the fire,” Richardson said.

Reshard Sanders, Latron Moody and William Chavis Mullins were identified this past Wednesday through D.N.A analysis. Richardson said the victims ranged in age from 16 to 26.

The deadly crash occurred just after 4:30 a.m. on Senator Gasque Highway, between Mullins and Marion, authorities said. The Jeep Liberty vehicle the young men were driving, ran off of the road, into a ditch and burst into flames. The force of that fire burned their bodies beyond recognition.

Richardson also said that the vehicle was loaned to the men and not stolen, as previously reported.
