Seniors celebrate center's first year anniversary

Lake City Senior Center First Anniversary Celebration was on Nov. 15. Participants displayed their various styles of hats to the crowd during a hat parade. Prizes were awarded for prettiest/handsomest hat, unusual hat, largest hat, elegant hat and smallest hat. Also during the celebration, Mt. Beulah United Methodist Church Youth Department performed under the direction of Sara Speights and Michelle Singletary and the “Bridgeport Trio” performed a blend of blues, pop, beach music and jazz. Door prizes were given and other games were played such as bingo and “Remember When”trivia. Special guests included Florence County Council Chairman, K.G. ‘Rusty’ Smith, Jr, Sen. Yancey McGill and Lake City Mayor, Lovith Anderson, Jr and Lake City Administrator, Marion Lowder. Attendees participated in a reception following the festivities.
