CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) _ Authorities are looking for a construction worker missing after a shift working on a South Carolina bridge.
The Department of Natural Resources says 48-year-old Eddie Hearns has been missing from a construction site on a U.S. Highway 17 bridge over the Combahee River since Tuesday night.
Hearns was working for a company based in Clearwater, Florida.
Authorities say crew members realized he was missing when they were finishing for the night. His jacket was found in the water more than a mile from the bridge.
His family says Hearns had been planning to return to Florida for Thanksgiving and had planned to get a marriage license with his fiancee during the visit.
