Sallie Cooper Cameron of Lake City, 94, died on Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007.
A funeral was at noon Tuesday, Nov. 12 from Mt. Clair Missionary Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. W.L. Thompson. Burial followed in Beaverdam Cemetery at Scranton.
Born in Cades, Mrs. Cameron was a daughter of the late Lear Davis and David Cooper. She attended the public schools of Florence County and married to the late Kelly Han Cameron, Jr. This union was blessed with seven children, three preceded her in death. Early in life she attended St. Paul Baptist Church in Scranton and later joined Mt. Clair Baptist Church where she served as Mother, Deaconess, Pastor Aid President, Missionary and Mass Choir member. Mrs. Cameron was a member of Sunbeam OES Chapter #224.
Surviving are son, Leveron Cameron of Philadelphia, PA.; daughters, Margaret Singletary of Dover, Del., Frances Scott of Charleston, and Queen Flowers of Philadelphia, PA.; her adopted children, Jannie Hannah and Marie Jones of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; special cousins, Ruth Bower and George Gaskins of Washington, D.C.; nieces and nephews.
