Mullins Chamber plans holiday events

»  Comments | Post a Comment

We would like to thank the members of the Mullins Rotary for sharing in our October luncheon. Our luncheon was sponsored by the Mullins Rotary Club and Wally’s Fire and Safety Equipment. Mary Martin, Rotary District Governor 2007-2008 and Executive Director for the Little River Chamber of Commerce was our featured speaker. Mary has been a member of Rotary for 19 years and has served in many capacities over these years.

She discussed the “Four Way Test” of the things we think, say or do that is practiced by Rotarians worldwide. When considering an action, ask the following questions. “Is it the truth?” “Is it fair to all concerned?” “Will it build good will and better friendships?” Will it be beneficial to all concerned?” (Copyright 1916 Rotary International)

These precepts are excellent guidelines for all of us in how we conduct business and live our lives. Mary also talked about what the Rotarians are doing in South Carolina and world wide as well as giving us an update on the activities of the Little River Chamber...

The Chamber was very proud to honor Barringer’s Jewelers as the October Chamber Friend of the month.

Barringer’s is celebrating 60 years of service to Mullins and surrounding areas. In 1947, Mr. Martin Barringer, 27 years old at the time, opened up the first store at the north end of Mullins.

In 1959, they moved to the current location at 140 South Main Street.

In 2003, this location was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. Barringer’s contributes their success to honesty and integrity and would like to invite everyone to come in during November and register to win a diamond ring that will be given away on Nov. 30 in honor of their 60th anniversary.

As we celebrate the long standing businesses, we would also like to welcome two new business members this month, NAPA Auto Parts and Richard Lilly and Sunsations, Etc. and Robert Harrelson.

We wish you much success in the future.

The holiday season is rapidly approaching and many events are in the planning.

The Chamber will be erecting a “Tree of Lights” this year to honor those we love, in memory of our loved ones and to honor the men and women serving in our Armed Services.

Chamber members will be selling “lights” for $5 each. Please support us in this festive event. Also this year, immediately after the lighting of the Mullins Christmas tree, the Chamber will be hosting a drop in for coffee, cider and cookies. We hope all of you will come in and visit with us in our Chamber office.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you and may God bless you throughout this Holiday Season!

Gena Jones, president, Greater Mullins Chamber of Commerce
