FLORENCE -- Hours before Thanksgiving folks were still out scrambling to get everything they needed and retailers were busy ringing in the profits.
For some businesses the day before Thanksgiving is one of their best days of the year.
Wednesday night at Target was a full house.
"We have a lot of guests purchasing items for Thanksgiving and also we have a lot of guests who want to beat the holiday rush, they are purchasing items for Christmas and other holidays they want to celebrate," Scott Sheffield, Target store team leader, said.
Patty Taylor and her husband were two of the thousands that Target expected to enter their doors the Eve of Thanksgiving.
"I guess we're kind of surprised that there's so many people out, but I think most people expect tomorrow (Thanksgiving) a lot of places are closed," Patty Taylor said.
That's the exact reason Taylor said she was in the middle of the rush, and also rushing herself.
"Just getting last minute things together because these places are closed tomorrow," she said.
Taylor said she was also getting items she may need later in the week.
While she might have been in the middle of this Thanksgiving rush Taylor said she won't be making the same mistake come Friday.
"We avoid black Friday so we're not out with all the 1,001 people shopping so this is why we're out today shopping," said Taylor.
Retailers said the night before Thanksgiving is only the beginning of the holiday rush and Black Friday is always big sales day.
The Florence Target store said they expect to make $500,000 in sales in that day alone.
