Billy Paul Godwin of Lake City, 74, husband of Mary H. Godwin, died Tuesday, oct. 30, 2007 in a Florence hospital.
A funeral was at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at High Hill Free Will Baptist Church. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

He is predeceased by a son, Gary P. Godwin
Born in Lake City, Mr. Godwin was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Rembert Hoyt Godwin. He was a dedicated member and trustee of High Hill Free Will Baptist Church and served as chair of the High Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery Commission. An avid hunter, he was also a member of the Lynches River Hunting Club and Community Hunting Club. Mr. Godwin was retired from Godwin Dairy Farms, Inc.
Surviving are, in addition to his wife of 51 years, are three daughters, Julia, (Keith) LaBonte of Marietta, GA, JoAn (Sparky) Douglass of Lexington and Janet G. Hicks of Scranton; two brothers, James F. “Buddy” (Virginia) Godwin and Harold (Marian) Godwin; two sisters, Aldean Cassidy and Edith Clark; four grandchildren, Erin and Brad Douglass, Jami Godwin (Jason) Kirby and Mac Hicks; numerous nieces and nephews.
