Program to feature Florence school

November’s “In Our Schools” television program will feature a Pee Dee school as an example of South Carolina public schools that are providing choices for their students and parents.

The one-hour telecast airs at 6:30 p.m. Sunday on South Carolina ETV. “In Our Schools” is a special series designed for parents, educators and community partners and produced by ITV, which is part of the Department of Education, with ETV’s assistance.

Schools featured in the broadcast are McLaurin Elementary in Florence School District 1 and Dent Middle School in Richland District 2. McLaurin has created a successful Montessori program for students in pre-K through third grade.

Sunday’s broadcastwill be repeated from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Nov. 15 and 19 on Channel 301 for taping by schools.
