COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) - A mother who claimed a carjacker killed

her 7-year-old son is now charged with murder.

      Greenville County Sheriff Steve Loftis says Amanda Reagan Smith

is responsible for her son's death.

      Smith was arrested nearly three months after she told

authorities that a knife-wielding carjacker forced her to drive to

a secluded, wooded area in Greenville. She said said the carjacker

locked the car doors and pressed a pillow to her son's face August

12.
