LAKE CITY - Florence County School District Three has scheduled two public hearings on its projected 2012-2013 budget on Tuesday, April 24, and Tuesday, May 8 at 6:30 p.m. in the board meeting room located behind the district office at 125 South Blanding St., Lake City. The budget is available for review on the district website at www.florence3.k12.sc.us. The Board of Trustees will hold first reading of the budget at its meeting on April 19 at 6:30 p.m. in the board room located behind the district office. Second reading will be held at its meeting on May 10 at 6:30 p.m. in the board room located behind the district office. The 2012-2013 projected budget is based on preliminary figures provided by the state. The district used a Base Student Cost (BSC) of $2,012 that was approved by the South Carolina House of Representatives. All budget figures are subject to change as more budget information becomes available from the state. The district’s millage for 2012-2013 is not currently available because information has not been received from the State Budget and Control Board. The millage will be posted along with the budget once that information becomes available.
