MYRTLE BEACH, SC- Neil Simon's comedy “Lost in Yonkers” will be performed by Atlantic Stage from Thursday, February 23 through Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the 79th Avenue Theatre in the Coastal Carolina University Myrtle Beach Higher Education Center, 900 79th Ave N, Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29572.
The play will preview on Thursday, February 23 with opening night on Friday, February 24.
This memory play is set in a Yonkers in 1942.
Bella is 35 year old, mentally challenged and living at home with her mother.
As the play opens, ne'er-do-well son Eddie deposits his two young sons on the old lady's doorstep and hits the road.
The boys are left to contend with Grandma, with Bella and her secret romance, and with Louie, her brother, a small-time hood, in a strange new world called Yonkers.
The comedy won the 1991 Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Play.
"Lost in Yonkers" is presented by Atlantic Stage in cooperation with Coastal Carolina University's Professional Theatre Training Program (PTTP) providing valuable professional work experience for CCU'S best BFA students.
