Mr. and Mrs. William Putnam Scarborough Jr. of Florence, SC, announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Ashley Scarborough to Jason Westbrook McAlhaney, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Hampton McAlhaney of Aiken, SC.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George S. Jordan and the late Mr. and Mrs. William P. Scarborough.
The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Avant of Bowman, SC, and Mrs. Bessie Rae McAlhaney and the late John Hampton McAlhaney of Reevesville, SC.
The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of South Florence High School and a 2009 graduate of the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy, with a Doctor of Pharmacy. She is employed by Publix Pharmacy in North Augusta, SC.
The groom-elect is a 2002 graduate of South Aiken High School; 2007 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Exercise Science; and a 2009 graduate of the Medical College of Georgia with a Masters in Public Health. He is employed by Lexicode of Chapin, SC.
The wedding will be May 19, 2012, at St. John's United Methodist Church, in Aiken, SC.
