Michelle Buckman, author of Rachel’s Contrition, will be featured at the 15th annual SC Book Festival which will be held at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center from May 13 through May 15, 2011.
A resident of Hamer, she is the author of six gritty, contemporary novels. Being born in New York and raised in Canada before moving to the Carolinas as a young girl has allowed her to write with an intimate awareness of what makes the South unique. She is an international speaker and also loves discussing her stories with book clubs through Skype and phone conferencing.
The SC Book Festival’s weekend activities will feature more than 120 award-winning authors discussing their literary works and other interesting topics. Authors will also be autographing copies of books and have books on site for purchase. Additionally, more than 100 exhibitors will have booths – including several antiquarian book sellers – where guests can shop for that special literary treat. Saturday and Sunday events are open and free to the public, and all seats for author presentations are on a first-come basis. Visit the schedule page of http://www.scbookfestival.org for more information as plans are finalized.
The SC Book Festival, which has been promoting literary excellence since 1997, is a program of The Humanities Council SC.
