St. John’s Elementary School in Darlington held its annual APT talent show Feb. 22 under the direction of music teacher, Sylvia Puffer.
“This talent show is a chance for several of our kindergarten through fifth-grade students to have an opportunity to relax, have fun and show off their talents,” Puffer said. “It boosts confidence and gives the students a diversion from their rigorous academic schedule.”
The show began with a second and fourth grade group singing a rendition of “Welcome to Our Show,” which brought thunderous applause from the audience of several hundred parents, teachers, students and friends of the school, said Puffer.
The show continued with 15 additional numbers, including singing, jazz and rap dancing, piano playing, hula dancing and rope jumping. The show ended with a moving duet by fifth-grader Corey Howle and Puffer entitled “There Will Be Peace.”
