Horry County doctor performs new procedure to help those who suffer from heartburn

MYRTLE BEACH - If you suffer from heartburn on a regular basis, a new incision-free procedure may help. Dr. Lane Moore OF Tri-County Surgery was the first surgeon in both South and North Carolina to perform the TIF/Esophyx.

The Transoral Incisionless Fundoplication (TIF®) using the new Esophyx ® device allows surgeons to correct the problem that causes acid reflux.

It's performed through the mouth.

An increasing number of studies have shown that acid reflux, left untreated, can lead to a number of serious complications-including pre-cancerous conditions.

Because the procedure does not require any incisions, there is reduced pain, reduced recovery time and no scars. Clinical trials have shown that, after the procedure, most patients can eat and drink foods they have avoided many years. "79% of the patients who undergo this procedure can end their use of acid reflux medications," adds Moore. "Most patients remain symptom free after two years and experience a dramatic improvement in their quality of life.

If you would like to learn more about the TIF/Esophyx procedure or attend one of the free seminars Dr. Moore is hosting call 843-756-5524.
