Hartsville's Good Living Marketplace to host 'Strut Your Mutt' fundraiser

»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Hartsville Good Living Marketplace will move into its second year of operation on Saturday, Nov. 7, by literally “going to the dogs”. This month, the Good Living Marketplace will host the Darlington County Humane Society fundraiser titled “Strut Your Mutt.”

The location for the event is Burry Park in downtown Hartsville. Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. Fee is $5 per dog or donation of dog food or supplies. Contests begin at 11 a.m. Awards will be given in the following categories: Waggiest Tail, Best Smile, Best Costume, Best Trick, Owner Look-a-like, So Ugly it's Cute, and People's Choice.

“From the inception of the Good Living Marketplace a year ago the Darlington County Humane Society has been an integral part of the market, having a booth space with dogs and cats available for adoption. They feel our market has helped find loving homes for many animals and we feel the Humane Society is one of the reasons for our success with this concept,” Hartsville Downtown Association Director Judi Elvington said.

The Hartsville Good Living Marketplace is a monthly market sponsored by the Hartsville Downtown Association and the City of Hartsville. It offers locally grown farm products and showcases local artisans and shops. For more information on the Good Living Marketplace and the dog show call Judi Elvington at (843) 332-1600.
