Charlotte Ashley Roberts of Holden Beach, North Carolina and Benjamin Albert Baroody of Murrells Inlet were married October 3, 2009 at Holden Beach Chapel in Holden Beach, North Carolina. The 6:30 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Dr. Albert J. Baroody, cousin of the groom.
The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Virgil Roberts of Holden Beach, is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Roosevelt Roberts of Holden Beach and the late Mr. and Mrs. Lonnie Hayes Ransom of Bladenboro, N.C. She attended the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City and is now an English major at Coastal Carolina University.
The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Bahij Baroody of Florence, is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bahij Joseph Baroody of Florence and the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Girard Morisseau of Haverhill , Mass. He is a cum laude graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts in English and holds a juris doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is an attorney with the law firm of Bellamy, Rutenberg, Copeland, Epps, Gravely & Bowers, P.A. in Myrtle Beach.
Maid of honor was Miss Caroline Alice Roberts of Holden Beach, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Amilita Farrior Merritt of Washington, D.C. , Miss Mary Wallace DeBerry of Myrtle Beach, Miss Yve Maria Assad of Charleston, Miss Jeanne Laroque Jolly of Raleigh, N.C., Miss Taylor Jean Cathcart of Los Angeles, CA, Mrs. Lauren Nowell Rendeiro of New York, NY, Miss Nancy Upton Cobb of Raleigh, NC, Miss Dare Davenport Branch of Chicago, IL, Miss Kimberly Erin Maness of Raleigh, NC, Miss Yates Leigh Baroody of Washington, D.C., sister of the groom, Mrs. Kate Allen Stukenberg of Houston, TX and Miss Lillian Esther Peterson of Napa, CA. Flower girl was Charlotte Millie-Olivia Roberts, niece of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids and greeters were Kinsey Elizabeth Banzet of Madison, N.C., Stewart Kepley Austin of Wilmington, N.C., Shannon Tate Foster of Denver, CO. and Cynthia Nicole Owens of St. Simons, Ga. Honorary attendant was Meredith Joyner Rhodes of Greenville, NC.
Best man was Mr. Albert Bahij Baroody, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Mr. Richard James Battle of Conway, Mr. William David Gravely of Myrtle Beach, Mr. Everett Guy Ballenger of Florence, Mr. Bradford Cary Andrews of Florence, Mr. John Steven DeBerry, Jr. of Florence, Mr. Henry Summers Clarke of Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Macon Bradley Lovelace of Columbia, Mr. Nicholas Xavier Jebaily of Charleston, Mr. Woodrow Ervin Swink of Florence, Mr. Lynn Richard Owens, Jr. of Florence and Mr. William Campbell Blanton of Florence. Mr. Marc Andrew Finkel of Holden Beach was the usher to the mother of the bride.
Pianist was Mrs. Rose Leonard. Vocalist was Miss Jeanne Laroque Jolly and violinist was Mister Logan Donevant. Guest book attendant was Miss Katie Mae Parker and the readers were Mrs. Rachel Menell Shure and Mr. George Ellzey Morgan. The wedding director was Holly McMillan and the photographer was Logan Mock-Bunting.
A tented reception on the West End of Holden Beach followed the ceremony.
The couple honeymooned on Eleuthera Island in the Bahamas and will reside in Murrells Inlet, SC.
