Mary Elizabeth Thompson of Turbeville, SC, and Jeffrey Jacob Meyer of Paramus, NJ were united in marriage on Saturday, July 11, at half past six o’clock at the Parish Hall of Saint John’s Episcopal Church, Florence, SC. The Reverend Kenneth Weldon and Rabbi Steven Lebow performed the ceremony. A reception followed at the Fellowship Hall.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Graham Thompson of Florence. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dougherty and the late Mr. and Mrs. Earlie Thompson, Jr.
She is a graduate of Furman University with a Bachelor of Music in music education and received her Masters degree in flute performance from Kent State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in flute performance at the University of Kansas and is employed as the grant writing assistant at the Lied Center of Kansas performing arts center.
The groom is the son of Ms. Ilene Linda Kleinman of Bergenfield, NJ and Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Levi Meyer of Paramus, NJ. He is the grandson of Mrs. Sheila Solomon and the late Chaim Solomon of Philadelphia, PA and Mr. and Mrs. Helmuth Meyer of Lake Worth, FL.
He is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music with a Bachelor of Music degree in tuba performance and received his Masters degree in tuba performance and conducting from Kent State University. He is in the final stages of his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in tuba performance from the Cleveland Institute of Music. He is currently employed by the Department of Veterans Affairs in Topeka, KS.
Ms. Angel Coker, friend of the bride, served as Maid of Honor. The attendants were Ms. Cindy Hallo, friend of the bride, Ms. Julie Meyer and Ms. Lara Meyer, sisters of the groom.
Mr. Aaron Ging, friend of the groom, served as Best Man. The groomsmen were Mr. Brian Fox, brother of the groom, Mr. Nicholas Gonzalez, friend of the groom, and Mr. Daniel Kleinman, brother of the groom.
After a wedding trip to Los Angeles, the couple is living in Lawrence, KS.
