Erin Lee Andrews and Eric Husson Matthes were united in marriage Sunday, May 31st at the bride’s parent’s home in Florence, S.C. The 2 o’clock garden ceremony was officiated by a close friend of the bride and groom, Megan Ann Chaloupka of Portland, Oregon. A string quartet consisting of Melanie Zhao, Sunny Chung, Kristy Liao and JaJa Liao, provided the wedding music.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. David and Mrs. Sandy Andrews of Florence. She is the granddaughter of the late Isben Wesley Seif, Jr. and Barbara Ann Seif and the late Robert Crawford Andrews, Jr. and the late Margaret Buddin Andrews. Erin is a graduate of Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Fine Arts. She received a Masters degree in Art Therapy Counseling from Marylhurst University near Portland, Oregon. She is employed as a counselor at Mount Edgecumbe High School, a boarding school in Sitka, Alaska, serving Alaska Native students.
The groom is the son of Mr. Fred and Mrs. Diane Matthes of Nashua, New Hampshire. He is the grandson of the late Robert Husson and Mrs. Phyllis Husson of Saugus, Massachusetts and the late Fred Matthes, Sr. and Jennie Matthes of Malden, Massachusetts. Eric is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He is currently completing a Masters in Education through the University of Alaska in Fairbanks and is employed by Pacific High School in Sitka, Alaska as a science and mathematics teacher.
Escorted by her father, the bride was attended by Miss Kristin Nicole Bishop of Columbia, S.C. as Maid of Honor. The Bridesmaid was Laura Arden Andrews, sister of the bride. Scott Husson Matthes, brother of the groom, was the Best Man and Michael Christopher Coen, friend of the groom, was the groomsman. David Ashley Seif, uncle of the bride, read a blessing during the ceremony that he had written for the couple. A reception followed the ceremony at the Andrews’ residence. Following a wedding trip to Hot Springs, North Carolina, the couple will reside in Sitka, Alaska.
