Melissa Ann Anderson of Jacksonville, Florida and Charles David Bye of Jacksonville, Florida were united in marriage, Saturday, October 3, 2009, at Central United Methodist Church. The Reverend Thomas Pietila performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Juanita Roberson of Olanta, and the late Mr. Allen Roberson and Mrs. Iris Anderson of Olanta, and the late Mr. Hubert Anderson.
She is a graduate of Clemson University and employed as an account executive with Rex Corp. in Jacksonville, Florida.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Shirley Bye and Mr. Charles Bye of Baltimore, Maryland. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles League and the late Mr. and Mrs. Jay Bye. He is a former Marine of the Second Recon Division and is employed as a technical service manager at Cork Industries in Jacksonville, Florida.
Maid of Honor was Miss Ashley Anderson, sister of the bride.
Bridesmaids were Miss Kristina Bye, daughter of the groom, Miss Kara Cunningham, Miss Samantha Finley, Mrs. Courtney Fitzgerald, and Miss Stephanie Smith, friends of the bride.
Junior bridesmaids were Miss Rachel Bye and Miss Allison Bye, daughters of the groom.
Best Man was Mr. Timothy Bye, brother of the groom.
Groomsmen were Mr. Michael Bye, brother of the groom, Mr. Brett Bye, nephew of the groom, Mr. Donald Cable, and Mr. Bruce Hudspath, friends of the groom.
Reader was Mrs. Jennie Watts, aunt of the bride. Organist was Mr. Bill Mills, violinist Miss Amanda Grubb and soloist Mrs. Meri Lyn Rogers. Greeters were Mr. and Mrs. Steve Davidson.
A reception was held at The Country Club of South Carolina.
After a wedding trip to St. John Island, the couple will live in Ponte Vedra, Florida.
