The regular meeting of the Darlington County League of Women Voters will feature Dr. Neal Thigpen, retired professor of political science from Francis Marion University, at 7 p.m. Oct. 20 in the Hartsville Library Conference Room.
Thigpen will speak on current political strategies and the 2010 elections. He has taught at Francis Marion for more than 25 years. He holds a doctorate in public administration and American government from the University of Maryland.
The League’s agenda will include looking at issues members will advocate for 2009-2011 including education, voter access, tax reform, criminal justice, natural resources and reapportionment.
