Amber Baskin of Olanta stars as “Princess Jasmine” in the musical production of “Aladdin” performed by the School for the Blind of the South Carolina School for the Deaf and Blind (SCSDB).
The performance will take place in Pulliam Auditorium on SCSDB’s Spartanburg campus. As part of a three-week cross-cultural arts integrated study, School for the Blind students have immersed themselves in the Arab culture, from history to math to literature.
The three-week study concludes with a special one-hour musical performance of Aladdin, including familiar songs such as “Arabian Nights” and “A Whole New World.”
“My favorite part of this play has been how we have all become closer and are respecting each other in a different way,” Amber said of the production and three-week study.
Her stage credits include Annie in “Annie” and part of the company in “Guys and Dolls.”
