Two cholesterol lowering drugs under scrutiny

»  Comments | Post a Comment

A new study is raising more concern about the effectiveness of two popular cholesterol lowering drugs-- Zetia and Vytorin.

Researchers report that Zetia failed to reduce artery buildup and users of the medication suffered more heart attacks than those on rival drug, Niaspan.

A trial of Vytorin also showed little or no benefit against heart disease.
