Green graduates from basic infantry training

Army National Guard Pvt. Andrew D. Green has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, in Columbus, Ga.

During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness and first aid as well as Army history, core values and traditions.

Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics and experience in the use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.

He is a grandson of Annie Green of Lake City and a son of Denise Green of Sumter and a 2009 graduate of Lake City High School.
