Mr. and Mrs. Melton F. Brigman celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary on November 4, 2009. The couple married in 1939 when they were 18 and 19 years old. Mr. Brigman was drafted into the Army and fought in WWII. After the war, Mr. Brigman was honorably discharged and returned home to have 4 children and eventually settled in Hartsville. Mr. Brigman worked at the Milliken Plant in Hartsville until he retired.
Mr. and Mrs. Brigman (Lillie Mae) have been regular members of Lakeview Baptist Church for around 50 years. They have 7 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchilren with two more on the way. Family and friends are celebrating their anniversary at a reception at the Player House in Hartsville on Sunday, Nov. 8th 2009.
