Catherine Carmichael Powell and Jason Whetstone Regan were united in marriage at 6 O’clock in the evening on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, NC. The Rev. David Charles Partington officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Marion Powell of Greensboro, NC. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Elmore Carmichael, Jr. of Tuscumbia, AL, and Mrs. Ruby Criswell Powell and the late Mr. Henri Marion Powell of Grove Hill, AL. She is a 2001 graduate of Greensboro Day School and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2005 from Wofford College. She was presented by the Debutante Club of Greensboro, NC.
The groom is the son of and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Michael Regan of Hartsville, SC. He is the grandson of Mr. Henry Whetstone Webb and the late Rebecca Kay Webb of Hartsville, SC, and Mrs. Therese Kelley Regan and the late Mr. Joseph Farrar Regan of Flor-ence, SC. He is a 2006 graduate of Clemson University with a BS degree in Construction Science and Management and is a Project Manager with Hill Construction in Charleston, SC.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and was attended by her sisters, Allison Springer Powell of Mount Pleasant, SC, and Marion Brooks Powell of Chapel Hill, NC, as Maids of Honor. Bridesmaids were Marilyn Brooks Carlson of Chapel Hill, NC; Jennifer Wallace Easterling of Hartsville, SC; Kristen Beavers Haynes of Greensboro, NC; Elizabeth Leigh Huffine of Washington, D.C.; and Lauren O’Slavin Ponsler of Chattanooga, TN.
The Best Man was Mr. Joseph Michael Regan, father of the groom. Groomsmen were: Thomas Jess Easterling, Paul Graydon Money, and Wilson Edward Moore, uncle of the groom, all of Hartsville, S.C.; Charles Morgan Stuart III of Greenville, SC; Andrew Michael Regan, brother of the groom, of Clemson, SC; and Joseph Wesley Regan, brother of the groom, of Hartsville, SC.
Ushers were Benjamin Richard Liebetrau of Clemson, SC; Earl Emmett McLeod III of Columbia, SC; and Mr. Edward Tuttle McNair of Sullivan’s Island, SC. The reader was Mrs. David Royce Wylie of Greenville, SC. Program attendants were Alexandra Jane Nowlin and Katie Baldwin Cockrell, both of Charlotte, NC.
Following the ceremony, a reception was hosted by the parents of the bride at the Greensboro Country Club. On Friday evening, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal party at Revolution Mill Studios.
Following a wedding trip to St. Maarten the couple will reside in Mount Pleasant, SC.
