Ambra Sawyer McGuinn and Steven Kelly McGuinn were married May 23, 2009 at First United Methodist Church in Marion, S.C., with the Rev. Ashley N. McCoy-Bruce officiating. A reception followed at the Rosewood Manor.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Cain Sawyer. She is the granddaughter of Marcella Moore and the late Charlie B. Moore, Cora Mae Sawyer and Lamar B. Sawyer of Marion, S.C.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven Wade McGuinn. He is the grandson of Ann McGuinn, Mary Jean Stack, the late Elward Weaver of Columbia, S.C., and the late Benjamin A. McGuinn of Phoenix, Ariz.
Maid of Honor was Laura Sawyer, sister of the bride, of Marion, S.C., Matrons of Honor were Carly Canipe Parker, of Greenville, S.C., and Gail Goldston Sturkie, of Chapin, S.C. A rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at the Rosewood Manor, in Marion, S.C.
Given in Marriage by her father, Ambra wore a Wtoo of Watters Collection. It was a candlelight regal strapless gown, satin with beaded lace across the empire, slim A-line fit with a chapel train.
The bride is a 2002 Marion High School graduate and a 2007 graduate of Lander University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications with a Minor in Visual Arts. She is employed by Harvest Hope Food Bank of Columbia, S.C.
The groom is a 2003 Lexington High School graduate, a 2007 graduate of Lander University, and a 2009 graduate of Clemson University, with a Masters of Real Estate Development. He is employed by McGuinn Homes of Lexington, S.C.
The bride and groom will honeymoon at the Paradisus in Playa Conchal, Costa Rica. The couple will reside in Lexington, S.C.
