April Lee Evans of Greenville and Andrew Walker Orr of Greenville were married at 5 p.m. May 30, 2009, at Clarendon Baptist Church in Alcolu.
The Rev. Barry Lord and the Rev. Kirk Carlisle performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mark and Sandy Evans of Alcolu. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis E. Hinson of Sumter and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roland of Alcolu, and the late Woodie M. Evans.
She is a 2008 graduate of Columbia College with a Bachelor of Arts in Speech Language Pathology and is employed by Greenville County Schools.
The bride wore a beautiful, duchess satin, slim ball gown in a stunning shade of ivory with a hand-beaded bodice of pearls and rhinestones placed ornately over a dark ivory belting. The gown’s chapel length train was embellished with buttons all the way down the back, with every third button being a flower-like rhinestone. The bride complemented the gown with a beautiful cathedral length veil edged with Swarovski crystals.
The groom is the son of Cal and Reneé Orr of Florence. He is the grandson of Margaret R. Taylor and the late Thomas W. Taylor of Fort Mill and the late Mr. Calvin B. Orr Jr. and the late Dr. Theodosia G. Orr of Columbia.
He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of South Carolina.
Maid of honor was Miss Keri Perdue.
Best man was Brad Orr, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Miss Amber Davis, Miss Caroline Orr, sister of the groom, Mrs. Jordan Winters and Miss Michelle Belt, cousin of the bride.
Honorary bridesmaids were Mrs. Adrienne McCabe, Miss Katenell Lockliar and Miss Abigail Thompson.
Groomsmen were Jeremy Crooks, Dow Hammond, Cole Riddle and Tyler Mahaffey.
Ushers were Brett Belt, Josh Evans, Tyler Evans and Mr. Wil Thomas.
Flower girls were Emmie McCabe and Brooke Taylor, cousin of the groom.
Ring bearer were Mac McCabe and Dylan Taylor, cousin of the groom.
A Reception followed at The Cypress Center in Manning.
After a wedding cruise to the Western Caribbean, the couple will live in Greenville.
