Vanilla Berry Ice Cream Pie

1 quart vanilla ice cream, slightly softened
1 (9-inch) chocolate-cookie pie crust or graham-cracker pie crust
1/3 cup chocolate syrup
2 tablespoons toasted almonds, chopped
1 1/2 cups blueberries
1 1/2 cups raspberries
1 1/2 cups blackberries
2 tablespoons water
2 tablespoons brown sugar
Spoon ice cream into crust; smooth top. Squeeze chocolate syrup in a decorative pattern over ice cream. Sprinkle with almonds; freeze until firm. Can be made 1 day ahead and kept frozen. Let pie soften slightly as you make berry sauce. In a medium saucepan, bring all berries, the water and brown sugar to simmer. Cook until sauce thickens, stirring gently, about 4 minutes; remove from heat. Cut pie into wedges; place on plates. Spoon warm sauce over.
