Brianne Caitlin Horahan of Florence and William Carrington Jackson of Irmo were married on July 25 at 6:30pm at The Columns. Judge Patsy Stone performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Brian and Kathy Horahan of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Mr. William A. Powers Jr. and the late Mrs. Nellie Powers of Timmonsville and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Horahan of Florence. She graduated from the College of Charleston in May of this year with a BA in Creative Writing and also in Historic Preservation and Community Planning.
The groom is the son of Carol Chewning Jackson of Irmo and Gene Jackson of Danville, Virginia. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Rinehart Chewning of Holly Hill and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Borras of Accokeek, Maryland. He graduated from the College of Charleston in 2007 with a BS in Biology and will be attending medical school in West Virginia.
The Maid of Honor was Miss Georgiana Key, friend of the bride. The Matron of Honor was Mrs. Mary Reaves, sister of the groom. Best Man was Mr. Rinehart Chewning, grandfather of the groom. Bridesmaids were Margaret Rainka, Hannah Chapman, Elizabeth Harkness, Rachel Stephens, Lane Tinker and Joanna Chapman. Groomsmen were Larry Reaves, brother-in-law of the groom, Clark Chewning, Joe Reeder, Daniel Chewning, Hart Reeder, all cousins of the groom, Jamie Horahan, brother of the bride and Wes Richardson. Flower girl was Abigail Sample, cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was Caleb Sample, cousin of the groom.
Tommy Chewning, uncle of the groom, read a passage of Scripture and had a few special words for the couple. The processional and recessional music was provided by trumpeter, Kevin Hackler.
The bride's dress was of silk charmeuse with an overlay of silk chiffon. Her bouquet was of green and blue hydrangeas.
A reception followed at The Columns in Florence.
After a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple will reside in Columbia for a short while before moving to Lewisburg, West Virginia.
