Nadine Yvonne Zakhour and Benjamin Michael Diliberto were married at 5 p.m. Saturday August 8, 2009 at The French Hugenot Church in Charleston.
The Reverend Philip Charles Bryant performed the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Isam Jamil Zakhour of Florence. She is the granddaughter of Ambassador and Mrs. Joseph Shadid of Lebanon, and the late Mr. Jamil and Mrs. Yvonne Zakhour of Syria.
A graduate of George Washington University and post- graduate of Georgetown University, the bride is a critical care nurse at Georgetown University Hospital.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Diliberto of New Jersey. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cruckson of Wisconsin, Mrs. Stella Diliberto and the late Mr. Sam Diliberto of New Jersey.
A Graduate of George Washington University and a post- graduate of George Mason School of Law, the groom is an attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
The bride wore a Jenny Lee couture sweetheart neckline dress with lace detail and a European hand made lace veil. She carried a summer bouquet of white and blush pink roses, dahlias, cymbidium orchids and mini callas.
Maid of Honor was Christine Marie Zakhour, sister of the bride.
Best man was Anthony Joseph Diliberto, brother of the groom.
Bridesmaids were Michelle Linda Kayaleh, cousin of the bride, Margaret Elise Baker, Elizabeth Rebecca White Roman, and Katherine Nixon Kristoph.
Groomsmen were Jake Stephen Diliberto, brother of the groom, Ramzi Jamil Zakhour, brother of the bride, Daniel Aaron Fody, and Benjamin David Mossberg.
Flower girls were Jacqueline Camille O’Hara and Ayana Yasmine Honjo, cousins of the bride.
Ring bearer was Taro Max Honjo, cousin of the bride.
Readers were Nadia Shadid Hasrouni, aunt of the bride and Jennifer Ziegelbauer, aunt of the groom.
Music was provided by Charleston duo George Douglas Hiatt and Helen Greenfield, Soloist was Jessi Chapman.
A reception followed at the Country Club of Charleston.
After a wedding trip to Hawaii, the couple will live in Washington DC.
