Margaret Rae Coleman of Dillon and Carson Joseph Askins of Hemingway were united in marriage at 5:30 p.m. May 16, 2009, in an outdoor ceremony at the home of the bride’s parents.
The Rev. Raymond Haselden officiated the ceremony.
The bride, who was escorted by her father, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Lyde Coleman III of Dillon. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Elizabeth L. Allen and the late Mr. John D. Allen and Mrs. Martha S. Coleman and the late Mr. D.L. Coleman Jr., all of Latta. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of South Carolina and is employed by Walgreens in Charleston.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Baker Askins of Hemingway. He is the grandson of Mrs. Juanita B. Askins and the late Mr. J.P. Askins, and Mrs. Florence E. Graham and the late Mr. John J. Graham Sr., all of Hemingway. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of South Carolina and is now pursuing a law degree from the Charleston School of Law.
The maid of honor was Miss Stephanie Arnette, friend of the bride, of Dillon. Bridesmaids included Mrs. Maggie A. Verma, sister of the groom, of Charleston, Miss Heather Coleman, cousin of the bride, of Dillon, Mrs. Kristen M. McCall, friend of the bride, of Latta, and Miss Laurel Plunk, cousin of the bride, of McKinney, Texas.
Mr. Askins, the groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Daniel Coleman IV, brother of the bride, of Dillon, Mr. Caleb Harrelson of Hemingway, Mr. Brian Welch and Mr. Joedy Cook, both of Johnsonville.
Singer/guitarist Ryan Floyd performed the song “Embrace This Place.”
The Lord blessed with beautiful weather for the outdoor ceremony and reception.
After enjoying a wedding trip to the Dominican Republic, the couple resides in Mt. Pleasant, SC.
