Chamber honors students
The Marion Chamber of Commerce Citizenship Awareness Recognition (CAR) award recipients for Marion School District 1’s third grade period have been named. A savings bond, sponsored by First Citizens Bank, was presented to the students in recognition of this award. These students were recognized at the monthly school board meeting on March 9. Shown, from left, are, back row, Lynn McElveen, MSD1 Board of Trustees; William Humphrey, 9th grade recipient; Jamequa McDaniels, 12th grade recipient; Laura White, vice president Marion Chamber of Commerce; and Michael Lupo, Superintendent. Williams named to Who’s Who
Chaquita Alana Williams, daughter of Johnnie L. Graves and Charlene A. Williams-Graves of Gresham and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Williams has been named to Who’s Who among Students in American Universities and Colleges for the 2009 edition. She is a senior majoring in English and accounting at Columbia College, Columbia.
