After a short hiatus, the Toast to the Coast returns. It will be held on Thursday, April 23, from 6:30 - 9 p.m. at Kalmia Gardens of Coker College. This is the 10th Toast to the Coast event.
All proceeds go to benefit the Darlington County Humane Society, said Mary Segars, one of the event organizers.
As anyone knows who has attended the event, it is a great party with delicious seafood dishes prepared by Kyle Segars and friends.
This year’s event will include old favorites and some new ones such as Hazelnut crusted scallops, curry mango shrimp with coconut rice and bayou fish with sweet hot pecan sauce.
Cleve Watford, owner of Big’s Meats and More in McBee, will be grilling some of the items.
Along with every seafood dish imaginable, items on the menu include an oyster
roast, grilled asparagus, desserts and others.
Entertainment will be provided by The Hard Cash Band.
It’s a fun way to support a much needed cause.
Tickets will be available at Burry Bookstore, Bizzel’s Food & Spirits, Hobnob Gourmet, the Greater Hartsville Chamber of Commerce in Hartsville and at the News and Press and BellaDomani in Darlington. Tickets are $30 each in advance or $35 at the door.
