»  Comments | Post a Comment

The Rutledge Book Club recently held its last monthly meeting for the year.
Sixteen club members enjoyed an end-of-year picnic at Patricia McCutcheon’s farm house.
After a wonderful covered dish meal, club members discussed the scholarships to be given to two graduating seniors.
Scholarships of $500 each were awarded to Ashley McCutcheon of Carolina Academy, who will attend Florence-Darlington Tech in the nursing program and Michele Godwin from Lake City High School, who will be attending College of Charleston.
The club voted on prospective members that will be formally invited to join the club for the next calendar year. Donna Cox, outgoing club President, then presided over installation of club officers for the upcoming year.
Serving as President will be Iris Hanna, First Vice-President, Debra Lane, Second Vice-President, Linda Godwin, Treasurer, Teresa McDonald and Secretary, Corliss Bowman. There being no other business, the Rutledge Book Club was adjourned for the summer.
