William Todd Heustess and Shawn and Karen Melton of Hartsville announce the engagement of their daughter, Tamara Kay Heustess, to Casey Bruce Thomas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bruce Thomas of Hartsville.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Heustess of Hartsville, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Moore of Hartsville, and the great-granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Marion Sparrow. She is a graduate of Hartsville High School and a student at North-eastern Technical College, majoring in nursing.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Sonny King of Hartsville, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Thomas of Hartsville, and the great-grandson of Mrs. Luther Edwards of Hartsville. He is employed at Sumter Utilities.

The wedding will be Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, at West Hartsville Baptist Church in Hartsville.
